Mailbird review: Why it’s better than Microsoft Outlook

Mailbird review

While Microsoft Outlook may dominate the world of popular email clients for businesses and remote workers, it’s not without competition. In fact, I recently stumbled upon an email client that is out innovating Microsoft Outlook in several ways, and you may want to do yourself a favor and check it out.

Meet: Mailbird.

Founded by Andrea Loubier, Mailbird is a relatively new email client that makes emailing quicker and more convenient by bringing your emails and tasks together into one location.

In this Mailbird review, I will show you the top features as well as the top reasons you should check it out, especially if you’re in the market for a better email client.

Mailbird

1. Simplicity of the interface

If you are a long time user of Microsoft Office, you know it is a bit cramped, meaning there are several buttons, features, and functionalities all squished into one email client. You also know it’s difficult, without intense training or several hours of trial and error, to figure out how to use each of these features.

Mailbird is the opposite.

Mailbird is easy to use, navigate, and it allows you to configure your interface to your liking. When you first set up your Mailbird account, you can click on “General Settings” and customize the following features to suit your needs. These features include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Appearance – Here you can customize your layout, theme, color, avatar, contact info, messages, zoom level, and more.
  • Composing – Under this setting, you can select fonts that appeal to you.
  • Accounts – This feature allows you to add accounts and sync them to Mailbird.
  • Identities – Here you can set up and customize your signature.
  • Folders – This feature helps you create folders to organize your messages.
  • And more – There are several other features in General Settings that will help you customize your Mailbird Account.

After you customize your account settings, you’ll notice your interface looks nice, feels nice, and is easy to use.

2. Integrations

Mailbird integrations

Not only is Mailbird nice-looking and highly customizable, but it also offers several integrations that in-house and remote workers use daily. These integrations include apps like Slack, Facebook, WhatsApp, Google Calendar, WeChat, Contacts, Asana, Twitter, ToDoist, Trello, and more.

In short, when you add one of these app integrations to your Mailbird interface, the app will show up right within Mailbird. This means you no longer have to switch between apps in different browser tabs to complete your work.

For example, let’s say you integrate Slack into your Mailbird account. When you open up your Mailbird account, you will see a list of all your emails to the left, your selected message in the middle, and your Slack account on the right hand side of the screen. Rather than switching back and forth between browser tabs, you can email and chat within Slack from the same side-by-side location.

With Mailbird’s integrations, nearly every app you need to complete your work tasks is in one location.

3. Flawless

You may have also experienced the problem of your current email client crashing. I’m happy to report in all the time I’ve used Mailbird, it’ has never crashed.

In fact, in my experience, it works flawlessly, which is especially impressive considering how many apps you can integrate.

Additionally, it’s worthy to note that Mailbird will work with your mobile device as well, so you can email on the go as needed.

If you are looking for an email client that speeds up your work, works on a mobile device,  is customizable, doesn’t crash, isn’t buggy, and speeds up your working processes, then Mailbird is a great option.

4. Snoozes

Mailbird snooze feature

Finally, the main differentiator and pro feature, Snoozes, deserves a mention. Snoozes, in summation, is a unique feature that helps keep you organized, on task, and helps ensure you never miss an important email conversation.

If you need to look at a certain email at a certain time, you can schedule an alert (or a snooze) to remind you at the time you predetermined.

With the Snoozes feature, you can rest assured you will never miss sending or revisiting an important message ever again.

Again, Snoozes is a pro feature, which means you have to pay for it. However, if you receive several emails a day and need help organizing them, it’s worth it.

Wrap-up

If you are in the market for a high functioning and innovative email client, Mailbird may be the way to go. After all, Mailbird simplifies the processes of email, communication, and managing apps all while keeping you on task.
